15 months in jail for Paul Dunn, who shared child porn photos
A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed for distributing ten indecent images of children.
Paul Dunn, 51, was caught after he took up the name Nature Driver and shared the images via the internet.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing indecent images of children ranging from level one, the least serious category, to one picture which was classed as level four.
Glenda Thompson, prosecuting, told Southend Crown Court Dunn had already been convicted in 2003 of a similar offence and released from prison on licence, following a three year sentence. However, he still sent indecent images to another convicted offender on July 27, 2007.
Matthew Bone, mitigating, said some of the pictures had been of naked children at a campsite and the content was not sexual, although the conversation surrounding it had been. He said the two offences had occurred within minutes of each other and were a one-off slip-up.
He added: ?However, he accepts responsibility. He is extremely ashamed and remorseful.?
Dunn had been released to Felmores bail hostel, in Basildon, managed to find a job, and taken part in courses to deal with his problem.
However, he was later arrested and remanded in Belmarsh prison.
Judge Ian Graham said one of the images was of a ?particularly unpleasant and serious nature?. He added: ?They are serious because these images originated from actual abuse of children. They are not something that was made up.?
He jailed Dunn for 15 months and said he would remain on the sex offenders register for ten years.
