College guard Stacey Haverty jailed for child porn library

A college security guard from west London who built up a "horrendous" child porn library has been jailed for 15 months.

Stacey Haverty's "very nasty" secret was discovered when Customs officers intercepted a DVD sent to him from America entitled "Teen Beauty Pageant".

London's Southwark Crown Court was told police later searched his home on Ellington Road, Hounslow, and recovered more than 1,700 illicit images and movie files from his computer.

Five of them featured the most serious "level five" abuse of children as young as three.

Anita Arora, prosecuting, said they were "particularly abhorrent".

The 37-year-old defendant admitted nine counts of making child porn images and two of possessing them on or before February 5 this year.

Rejecting a defence plea for a non-custodial sentence, Judge James Wadsworth QC told him: "You downloaded not only still images but also moving images of very young children being horrendously physically and sexually abused.

"They are very nasty indeed."

The judge added that in addition to jail, he would have to register as a sex offender for 10 years and be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for a similar period, strictly limiting his future contact with children and banning him from working with them.
