Jail for Jason Hodson, a former ambulance controller who downloaded child porn
A judge has says it is a "tragedy" a trusted ambulance controller came to download child porn images, including youngsters being raped.
Jason Hodson, 24, was sacked last month from his job as a Banstead-based emergency call operator for the South East Coast Ambulance Service when he was convicted of 50 specimen charges of making, or downloading, indecent images.
And on Wednesday Hodson of Whyteleafe Hill, Whyteleafe was jailed for two years at Kingston Crown Court.
The court had heard he had more than 11,000 child porn images, despite Hodson's protestations of innocence throughout the trial.
Passing sentence, Judge Martin Binning said: "The images included young children and even a baby being penetrated by adults. youngsters being chained and tied up, and one girl with 'hurt me' written across her stomach.

"Its a tragedy you have become involved in child pornography.
"It has meant you must live apart for your partner and young son, and only have restricted access to him."
The indecent material was found by police on both his home computers, his mobile phone, his former girlfriend's computer and also his work laptop.
George Zachary, defending, said Mr Hodson had "an illegal and unhealthy addiction or illness."
Mr Zachary added: "This has had a major emotional impact on him - he has lost the family unit he was building."
