Police Hunt John Christopher Hinton, Missing Sex Offender
A convicted sex offender who was jailed for kidnap and rape has absconded from his Cheshire home.
John Christopher Hinton, 43, was jailed for nine years in 2002 but released on licence on 29 August with the condition that he stay at an address in Cheshire.
He failed to return on 11 September and police are appealing to anyone who knows where he is to get in touch, but not to contact him directly.
Hinton has previous convictions for assault and possession of a firearm.
He is described as white, of heavy build and about 6ft 2in (1.8m).
He has short cropped hair, which is black but greying, and may have a black or greying moustache.
Hinton also has a number of tattoos on his arms and forearms.
Police believe he may still be in Cheshire and has connections to the Warrington area.
