'Swirly' Paedophile On New Charge
Paedophile Christopher Neil who sparked an international manhunt by posting disguised pictures of himself sexually abusing children on the internet has been charged with another child abuse offence.
Neil was arrested in Thailand last year following an Interpol appeal after hundreds of photos of him engaging in sexual acts with young boys were discovered on the internet.
His face had been obscured using a "swirly" digital effect, but technicians cracked the code he had used and unmasked him.
The 32-year-old has now appeared in a Thai court to face a further charge of abusing children.
Neil arrived at Bangkok's Central Criminal Court wearing brown Thai prison uniform and chains around his ankles.
He held up a magazine in front of him while waiting in the holding area, to shield his face from the media.
He denies charges of sexually abusing a minor, videotaping the alleged abuse, taking a child without parental consent and holding him against his will.
The child, who was nine years old at the time, claims Neil paid him between £8-£16 to perform oral sex on him in 2003.
The boy is the brother of a child Neil admitted abusing in an earlier case.
He was sentenced to three years and three months jail on that charge.
