How do I properly set the instant message threshold?

The Instant Messaging (IM) Security threshold setting allow parents to set a more customised violation threshold of being notified once Sentry Parental Controls recognises a breach of the security settings while the child is instant messaging.

The higher the threshold, the more relaxed the filtration engines are to triggering a violation alert, hence the less frequent violation notifications to the parents.
