Live Action

This section has many options within it. This page will explain each feature and how you can use them. This section will only work if the computer is turned on and someone is logged into Windows.

Status - this area tells you if the computer is offline or online. No other features will work if the computer is offline.

Shut Down and Reboot - these two buttons shut down or restart the computer immediately.

Live Panel - this is a list of open applications on the computer. You can choose to close any open application from this list.

Open a Browser - if you enter a web site address (URL) in the space provided and then click GO, a browser will open on your child's computer and automatically go to the URL you entered.

Send an Alert - you can send an alert window to the computer, rather like a Windows error message. This will pop up over all other windows so that your child will definately receive your message. You can enter text for both the alert title and alert message.

File Transfer - you can send any file to the computer, or receive any file from the computer to the one you are using. First, choose whether you want to send or receive a file.

Send a File - first select the file you want to send, then select the folder you want to send the file to. Then, press TRANSFER FILE. You can stop this at any time by pressing STOP TRANSFER.
Receive a File - first select the file you want to receive from their computer, then select the folder you want to save the file to. Then, press TRANSFER FILE. You can stop this at any time by pressing STOP TRANSFER.

Chat Session - This feature is just like an Instant Messenger (IM) chat session, but without the need to install any software! All you need to do is enter the text you want and click SEND. Once you do this a chat dialogue opens on your child's computer. Your child will be able to chat back to you and will appear in the chat session window.
